Commercial for POCARI SWEAT

I want to talk about commercial for POCARI SWEAT.

First please watch the following commercial.



~Target Audience~


This commercial is aimed at young people, because this commercial use young people. The main person is Haruka Ayase, and she is famous actressand talent. However, I think, old people don't know her. So this commercial effects not old people, but yong people. And this commercial is aimed at athletes, too, because this commercial is for sports drink, and people in this commercial play dodge ball.

~Authority~

First we can see Haruka Ayase as an authority because she is famous and cute. So people who see this commercial believe this product is good easily by her.

Second we can see the product's name and company's name, "POCARI SWEAT" and "Otsuka seiyaku", because both of them are already vary famous in Japan. So some people have faith in them.

~Emotion~

This commercial uses fresh images. This commercial shows pool, some water, people who play sports and laugh, and the blue sky. They make fresh feeling. The main color of this commercial is blue, and blue is generally associated with fresh.

What's more, this commercial has many cuts and the transition is very fast. So the commercial looks very actively and speedy.

Therefore this commercial provids fresh and energetic impression to the people who watch it and makes them buy the product.

~Logic/Information~

The infomation which this commercial contains is this drink is mainly for people who play sports,and this is sorts drink, because people in this commercial enjoy playing sports, and after that, the main person drink the product.

~Evaluation~

This commercial is not so unique or strange, but makes very good feeling, I think.

The scene in which people enjoy sports provides healthy and fresh impression to people, so, I think, they are attracted by the commercial and product.

The casting is good because the main person, Haruka Ayase, have big effect to young people.

The most surprising thing is that they mainly use blue in the commercial. Genarally, blue is not used for commercial for food, becaus the color doesn't make good impression of food. However, they use blue for drink effectively and succeed in providing fresh and healthy impression of POCARI SWEAT.I think that is big chalenge and great work.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this commercial a good solid 9.

The reason why I gave the 9 is that most people feel the motion that the company expects. To tell the truth, this commercial gaives littel information and convincing reasons, but that's not matter and this commercial is successful.

I could know the aim of this commercial from it. What do you think about an effect of the last scene?

I think both Haruka Ayase and the background music give a good effect on the commercial.

The color of blue is, indeed, effective though it usually doesn't make good impression for food.

I also think that this commercial has big authority. This drink is already
so famous that nearly everyone knows about this product. And they use
famous person for commercial, very big authority!
